Fostermother
Texas metallers Fostermother combine the seismic heft of doom with the acid-notched grooves of stoner metal. The Houston-based outfit was founded in 2019 by guitarist/vocalist Travis Weatherred and bassist Stephen Griffin. The duo issued an eponymous debut in 2020, eliciting acclaim amongst doom aficionados and catching the attention of Ripple Music, which added the group to its roster the following year. Now operating as a trio with the addition of a full-time drummer in Jason Motamedi, Fostermother unleashed their sophomore effort, the weighty and melancholic The Ocean, in 2022.
