Devin Johnson
R&B vocalist Devin Johnson, a Columbus, GA native, developed his skills at a very young age in church, where he sang and picked up a number of instruments, including bass guitar, drums, and piano. In 2005, he competed on American Idol (the program's fifth season) but did not advance beyond the Hollywood round. He was nonetheless signed by Universal Motown shortly thereafter -- no small consolation prize. While attending Berklee College of Music, a few years later, he went to work on his debut album.
