Daggerboard
Idioma disponível: inglêsAn all-star Bay Area collective, Daggerboard makes atmospheric, genre-bending post-bop jazz, funk, and beyond. They debuted with 2021's Last Days at Studio A, before collaborating with veteran bassist Henry Franklin on 2022's Daggerboard and The Skipper. Formed in 2018, Daggerboard is led by percussionist/composer Gregory Howe and trumpeter/composer Erik Jekabson. The project initially grew out of their work alongside saxophonist Kamasi Washington in Throttle Elevator Music and also features drummer Mike Hughes and guitarist Ross Howe. Each of the members have decades of experience working in the Bay Area and bring their varied approaches to bear on their work as Daggerboard. They showcased their expansive sound with 2021's Last Days at Studio A, which found them performing together at the famed Berkley, California studio just prior to its closing in 2018. In 2022, they returned with Daggerboard and The Skipper, an equally adventurous collaboration with legendary bassist Henry "The Skipper" Franklin and also featuring contributions by vibraphonist Roger Glenn and violinist Mads Tolling.
