Chord Overstreet
Idioma disponível: inglêsBefore becoming known for his own pop music, singer/actor Chord Overstreet got his big break in the role of Sam Evans on the hit musical sitcom Glee. Two years after the show's finale, he made his major-label recording debut with the country-tinged 2017 EP Tree House Tapes. Under the band mononym Overstreet, he introduced a brasher, more anthemic pop sound with the song "Wasted Time" in April 2018. A solo Chord Overstreet eventually re-emerged with the track "What You Need" in 2020. The son of country musician and songwriter Paul Overstreet, Chord was born in Nashville and raised around music and the music industry, learning to play several instruments along the way. While he was in high school, his brother Nash Overstreet co-founded the dance-rock group Hot Chelle Rae as their guitarist. Chord graduated from high school in 2007 and pursued acting, earning guest spots over the next couple of years on TV shows like iCarly and The Middle, including a recurring role on the drama Private. In 2010, Overstreet responded to a casting call for the Fox series Glee, which had begun airing in 2009. He won the role of jock-turned-glee-club-member Sam Evans, joining the show at the beginning of its second season. He stayed with Glee through its final season in 2015, appearing on numerous soundtrack releases in the interim, including Glee: The 3D Concert Movie. In 2016, Chord signed with Island and Safehouse Records, a Universal imprint launched by Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, and manager Phil McIntyre. His debut single, "Homeland," arrived that August. He landed on the streaming charts with the song "Hold On" early the next year, and his debut EP, Tree House Tapes, followed in May 2017. The set of earnest pop included songs penned separately by Chord and his father. He was the musical guest on an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that August. When Chord Overstreet returned with more music in the first half of 2018, it was as leader of the summery pop group Overstreet. Singles like the streaming hit "Carried Away" and "My Ex" followed over the next two years before he issued the solo song "What You Need" in May 2020.
