Carl Louis
Carl Louis is a Norwegian producer of sunny, euphoric dance music. Louis first gained fame as one-half of CLMD, a duo he co-founded with childhood friend Martin Daniell. Initially releasing music as Carl Louis & Martin Danielle, the duo began making a splash in 2010, when their tracks such as "The Message" gained support from EDM DJs such as Axwell and Chris Lake. This led to several hit singles as well as remixes for Estelle and Bruno Mars. The duo began using the name CLMD in 2012, and they started a label called Up North Recordings, inking a distribution deal with Sony. Their 2012 single "Black Eyes & Blue" was an enormous club and radio hit, and 2013 follow-up "The Stockholm Syndrome" did even better, going six times platinum in Norway. The duo toured all over Europe and North America, opening shows for Madonna and Tiësto in Oslo. Following CLMD's 2014 single, "Wild Men," Louis decided to leave the duo and start a solo career; Danielle retained the moniker, changing its meaning to "Create Love, Music and Dreams." Louis signed to Warner Music in 2015, releasing singles "Apogee" and "Aeroplane" that summer.
