Antoine Dunn
Antoine Dunn is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who mixes old-school, gospel-informed soul and contemporary R&B. The nephew of gospel artist Veronica Dunn, the Cleveland, Ohio native served for three years as the music director of Cuyahoga Community Church, and eventually worked his way toward a career as a secular artist, writing for a custom song service and collaborating with American Idol finalist LaKisha Jones. Signed to the same independent label as Jones, Elite Music Group, Dunn hit the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with his first two singles, "Can't Forget" and "Miss My Love." That success set up the October 2012 release of Truth of the Matter, his debut album. The Vault Collection, a set of previously unreleased recordings, surfaced a few months later on another label. Dunn continued to release stray singles -- predominantly low-key ballads such as "I'm Gonna Love You" and "By Design" -- well into the late 2010s. An active international performer, Dunn has been an opening act on multiple Anthony Hamilton tours, and has also opened for Musiq Soulchild and Avant.
