Annie Blanchard

Annie Blanchard is an Acadian singer from New Brunswick, Canada. She was discovered during the 3rd edition of Star Académie in Quebec (2005). Her cover of the song "Évangéline" won her the Félix for Popular Song of the Year at the ADISQ Gala in 2006. She is known for her songs celebrating Acadian culture and the roots of her native land. Her debut album, Terre Promise (2007 ), received rave reviews and launched her career. For her second album, Marcher vers le nord (2010), she surrounded herself with collaborators such as Paul Daraîche, Wilfred LeBouthillier, Jean-François Breau and Steve Marin. In 2014, the singer was nominated at the Gala de l'ADISQ in the Album of the Year/Country category with her third album Annie Blanchard. At ease in the language of Molière as well as Shakespeare, she explores covers of English-language pop, rock and country classics on her fourth, Those Were the Days (2016). With her fifth album Welcome soleil (2018), she wins the Willie award for reinterpretation album of the year at the Gala Country. Following a collaboration with a Nashville team, she presents original material in English with her sixth album Hurricane (EP) (2021). In September 2022, Annie Blanchard releases her seventh album, Jolene and the Gambler, a duet with artist Maxime Landry.
