Dando andamento à proposta de revisitar, regravar e remixar trabalhos anteriores, o vocalista David Coverdale gravou com o Whitesnake em 2018 o álbum ao vivo The Purple Tour, retratando a turnê de The Purple Album (2015), no qual se dedicou a regravar vários clássicos do Deep Purple, sua banda nos anos 1970. O foco das interpretações, naturalmente, é nos três discos que Coverdale gravou com os dinossauros ingleses: Burn, Stormbringer e Come Taste the Band. Além de faixas lendárias como “Burn”, “Mistreated” e “Soldier of Fortune”, todas do Deep Purple, o Whitesnake também inseriu clássicos próprios no setlist do álbum ao vivo, com destaque para os hits “Here I Go Again”, “Love Ain’t no Stranger” e “Is This Love”, entre outros.
