Space Oddity (1969) é o segundo álbum do lendário cantor e compositor britânico David Bowie. Apenas pela capa já fica nítido que o Bowie do passado, de canções leves e maneirismos do rock inglês, ficou para trás com este trabalho. Em Space Oddity ele soou e apareceu como o mundo inteiro o conheceu depois. Misturando ecleticamente o folk, o rock e texturas eletrônicas, o álbum fez com que Bowie tivesse uma ascensão meteórica e chegasse ao sucesso mundial. A faixa-título se tornou um épico atemporal de ficção científica, na qual o artista transparece com perfeição todo o drama de sua história, gerando uma atmosfera altamente imersiva e sentimental. O álbum traz outros momentos importantíssimos para a música, como "Cygnet Committee", que abusa da psicodelia ao mesmo tempo em que narra a morte do movimento, em mais um dos momentos nos quais Bowie mostrou ter exímia percepção sobre o futuro.
