The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black
As much a theatrical troupe as a band, New York's Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black (named in homage to the B-movie scream queen) mixed their punk roots with elements of vaudeville, psychotronic films, and burlesque shows to arrive at their signature shock rock identity. In 1993, the group released their debut album, A National Healthcare. Black Date followed in 1998.
