Taragana Pyjarama
Taragana Pyjarama is an alias of Copenhagen, Denmark-based producer Nick Kold Eriksen, who also recorded as Eim Ick. After his debut as Eim Ick, he switched to Taragana Pyjarama and, inspired by the likes of Four Tet and James Holden, continued to develop his brightly colored and layered approach to electronic music. Mostly suited for home listening with occasional flashes of DJ appeal, TP's first release was a five-track EP issued on the French imprint Fool House in April 2011. Given the complex, melodic sound of tracks like "Girls" and "Ocean," one wouldn't have likely guessed that Eriksen once abandoned formal music training. One figure knocked out by the EP was Michael Mayer, who signed the producer to the venerable Kompakt label. Tipped Bowls, a succinct album that ranged from beat-less ambient to dancefloor material, was issued in June 2012.
