MC Trouble
Motown's first female rapper, MC Trouble seemed headed for a promising career until she died of an epileptic seizure in 1991. Born LaTasha Rogers, she hit the charts soon after her signing, with "(I Wanna) Make You Mine" becoming a hit in 1990. Her lone full-length, Gotta Get a Grip, featured Full Force, among others. Her passing made a deep impact on the burgeoning hip-hop scene, and she earned shoutouts from A Tribe Called Quest's Q-Tip and Nefertiti (the latter's "Trouble in Paradise" was dedicated to her).
