Goodman Revival
Formed in 2013, the Tennessee-based trio Goodman Revival is a contemporary revival of the famed family Southern gospel group the Happy Goodman Family. Tanya Goodman-Sykes, an original Goodman Family member and daughter of the group's founder and chief songwriter Rusty Goodman, formed the Goodman Revival with her husband producer Michael Sykes and singer Johnny Minick, also a former Goodman Family bandmember. A video of the three singers performing the Rusty Goodman-penned '60s classic "Until You've Known the Love of God" at Minick's Smyrna, Tennessee church in early 2013 found its way to YouTube, prompting interest in the group, who then began performing regularly together. Revisiting the classic songs and country gospel sound of the Happy Goodman Family, the trio released their debut, Songs in the Key of Happy, in January 2015. They released their second album, Still Happy, two years later.
