Floby
Floby, whose real name is Florent Belemgnegré, is an Ivorian-Burkinabé musician, singer and songwriter. He was born in the Bingerville suburb of Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, later moving to Burkina Faso with his grandmother, a griot. Floby sings in French and Mòoré languages and his music incorporates African sounds such as the kora and djembe, as well as rap and electric guitar. He has received numerous accolades for his music, including two Kundé awards in 2007, 2015 and 2016 as well as the prestigious Golden Kundé in 2010. Floby has released six studio albums, including Mam Sooré (My Way) (2006), Wuilgui Maam (Guide Me) (2009), Wend'mi (2012), M'pengda Wendé (2015), Wakato (2018) and Wend'so (2021). He has also released an EP titled Be Positif (2014), and two singles including "Tu me connais (You know me)" in 2016, and "Sugar Daddy” with Afro-pop singer Tanya in 2021.
