DRAIN

DRAIN is a NorCal punk outfit with an unrelenting yet catchy sound rooted in classic west coast hardcore and thrash. They issued their hard-hitting sophomore effort and Epitaph debut, Living Proof, in 2023. The band was founded in 2014 by vocalist Sammy Ciaramitaro, guitarist Cody Chavez, and drummer Tim Flegal, who shared a love of punk-metal and the surf and skate culture of their hometown, Santa Cruz. The group spent the next few years helping establish a strong, local hardcore scene while seeking out new pockets of fans nationwide. A pair of EPs, Over Thinking and Time Enough at Last, arrived in 2016 and 2017, followed by a blazing promotional single ("Army of One" and "California Cursed") that earned the band a choice slot at 2019’s Sound and Fury Festival in Los Angeles. The gig caught the attention of Revelation Records, which enthusiastically added the group to its roster and released their full-length, California Cursed, in 2020. Aptly named, the LP arrived at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the ensuing lockdown prevented DRAIN from hitting the road in its support. When it was safe to head back out, DRAIN did so with gusto, playing shows at home and overseas and returning to the studio for album number two. Living Proof, the group's first outing for Epitaph, was produced by Taylor Young (God’s Hate, Suicide Silence) and released in 2023.
