Danilo Montero

A pioneering Latin American contemporary Christian music artist, Danilo Montero is a popular praise & worship performer and recording artist with a long list of albums and decades of experience to his credit. Born on November 1, 1962, in San Jose, Costa Rica, he formed Sígueme in 1983 and began leading worship around the same time. A ministry as well as a musical production company, Sígueme organizes worship retreats internationally. Montero is the author of the book El Abrazo del Padre: Cómo Encontrar la Comunión Genuina con Dios and is associate pastor at Iglesia Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. Since the '90s, he has released a steady stream of well-regarded praise & worship albums, including 1995's Celebra al Señor, 2001's Cantar de Tu Amor, and 2007's Tu Amor. Many of his recordings are live, and document the energy and experience of his worship sessions. In 2008, his album Tu Amor took home the Billboard Latin Music Award for Best Latin Christian/Gospel Album. The following year, he returned with Devocion, which was recorded live at Houston's Lakewood Church. Another live album, La Carta Perfecta, arrived in 2013. In 2018, Montero returned with the studio album Mi Viaje.
