Christian Nara, Médhy Custos

Born in the 14th arrondissement of Paris on July 4, 1973, Médhy Custos spent his childhood in Guadeloupe, where he began singing and playing gwoka in Pointe-à-Pitre. Destined to evolve professionally in the music world, he first joined the group Kwebee in 1996, with whom he produced his first songs. After sharing the stage at concerts in the Antilles with Jean-Jacques Goldman and Jacques Higelin, he produced the album Allianstars Vol. 1 with Gladys Cabarrus, before officially going solo with his first album Serial Lover, released in 2004. His music, a blend of zouk and R'n'B, won over the public, who adopted several of his tracks, such as "Pour Te Retenir" and "Franc Jeu". In 2006, with Jane Fostin, he gained notoriety in France with the duet "Pas De Glace", then joined a subsidiary of Warner Music France for his second album, Elles Demandent (2006), which sold tens of thousands of copies. Awarded a prize by SACEM in 2007 for the composition of the zouk track "Cette Nuit", Médhy Custos has acquired a solid reputation in the French-speaking world, performing at La Cigale, Olympia, in Africa and the West Indies. With Ouvrir Mes Ailes, his music evolves to embrace the innovative sounds of rap and featurings with Tiwony, Lord Kossity and AP from the group 113. A producer in the 2010s for new Guadeloupean talent, Médhy Custos continued to produce singles, followed by a fourth studio album, ADN, released in 2014. A key figure on the Guadeloupean music scene in the early 2000s, his tracks "Mes Divas" and "Elles Demandent " (which reached number three in the charts in 2007) enjoyed considerable success.
