Bellakath

Bellakath is a Mexican reggaeton and cumbia singer and songwriter. Born Katherinne Huerta in 1997 in Iztacalco, she studied law at the prestigious Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. At the same time, she began trying to break into show business, first appearing as a contestant in a TV dating show and later as a social media influencer. She started releasing singles in 2020, a stream of typical reggaeton fare with an abundance of partying, steamy sex, alcohol, and features, and in 2023 had her first viral hit with "Gatita." The almost as popular "Reggaeton Champagne" (with Dani Flow) followed a few months later. Both tracks were included in Bellakath's debut full-length Kittyponeo, also from 2023. More singles, videos, collaborations, and an appearance at the Flow Fest Festival kept her momentum going, even if she had to contend with accusations of plagiarism and other controversies.
