Alquimia La Sonora Del XXI

In the early '90s, Colombian brothers Jorge and Sady Ramírez teamed up with singers Carolina Ovalle, Jhanio Coronado, and Willy Garcés to form a tropical threesome to pay tribute to Sonora Matancera, one of the most successful orchestras in the Latin music field. Alquimia debuted with the release of Leyenda, followed by the self-produced Leyenda II. Nicknamed "la Sonora del XXI" ("the sound of the 21st Century") after successfully performing in the U.S., Alquimia returned with Tras la Huella, which featured vocals by Marco Antonio and John Jairo Ibáñez. Later, they introduced singer Patricia Moncayo.
