Zaq

A Japanese singer-songwriter, lyricist, composer, and arranger, ZAQ is known for her pop and electronic work in anime television series including Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions as well as for her own recorded output. Born in Kagoshima Prefecture on March 16, 1988, she developed a taste for rock bands at junior high school, and taught herself how to compose music, also learning piano at age three. She began penning songs for other artists before making her solo debut in 2012, writing the single "Sparkling Daydream" as the opening theme to the aforementioned anime series. Several more singles surfaced over the next few years, including "Gekijouron" (激情論) and "Extra Revolution" (エキストラレボリューション), which were used as the second opening theme for High School DxD New and I Couldn't Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job. Her first album Noisy Lab arrived in 2014 and her second album No Rule My Rule two years later. It was released in two editions: a standard edition, and a limited edition which includes a music video, a making-of video, and recordings of live performances. ZAQ marked 10 years with the Lantis label in 2022, releasing the two-disc LAQPOT that comprises 23 singles, five digital singles, and a new song made especially for the anniversary.
