The Berg Sans Nipple
Influenced by ambient electronica, dance, post-rock, and world music, the Berg Sans Nipple are a French-American duo featuring Paris native Lori Sean Berg and Nebraskan Shane Aspegren. The two made their musical debut in 2002, releasing a soundtrack EP to the short film Marie-Madeleine before laying the groundwork for a full-length album. Form Of… appeared the next year, followed by a pair of EPs in 2004. By early 2007, the Berg Sans Nipple had signed with Team Love Records and released a second album, Along the Quai, which doubled as the group’s North American debut. Aspegren also made a guest appearance on Cassadaga, the seventh studio album by label head Conor Oberst. The Berg Sans Nipple unearthed several discarded songs from the Quai sessions for their next EP, 2008’s De la Mort Ou de l'Amour, and 2011’s Build with Erosion found the band replacing the instrumentals of albums past with a new emphasis on vocally driven songs.
