SonaOne

Since 2010, Mikael Adam Lozach a.k.a French-Malaysian rap and R&B favorite SonaOne has been edging towards the top table of Malaysia's leading contemporary hip-hop artists. Born in Pahang, Malaysia on November 30, 1988 to a French father and Malaysian mother, the singer-songwriter, beatmaker and rapper lived in a number of different countries as a child but settled in Malaysia aged 10. He began dabbling with music production a few years later, while simultaneously making a name for himself as a graffiti artist. In 2010, Lozach joined Malaysian group G.O.D Music - Gentlemen On Dinosaurs via Kartel Records, toasting the start of his musical career. A series of three mixtapes under his SonaOne alias arrived that year, including the career-boosting Tuna Spaghetti, which led to a hip-hop/urban nomination at Malaysia's Shout Awards! in 2010. Lozach's debut studio album, Growing Up Sucks!, was released in 2016 with the LP's English-language lead single "No More" picking up two awards at Malaysia's Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM) in 2014. Hit tune "Apa Khabar" (Mikael Lozach, Johan Ishak) – which Lozach co-wrote with collaborator Joe Flizzow – won the Best Hip Hop Song prize. In 2020, Lozach – who flits effortlessly between Malay, English and French – dropped his second studio album, THE LOCCDOWN.
