Pedrito Fernandez
Singer Pedro Fernández was born José Cobos in Guadalajara and originally rose to prominence as a child star under the stage name Pedrito Fernández, only shortening his name when he reached the age of 16. By the time he was in his mid-teens Cobos was already an established recording artist having released 13 albums, he had also begun acting and in 1978 landed the starring role as Raúl in the film 'La Niña de la Mochila Azul'. The film was a huge success with Latin audiences and it established Cobos as a household name within the Latin American entertainment industry.
During his long career his achievements as an actor and singer have been recognised with numerous industry accolades which include four Latin Grammy Awards for his music and a prestigious TV Novelas Award for his acting. Cobos has risen in his chosen professions to become one of the most recognised artists throughout Latin America and as an adult recording star has released more than 20 successful albums and as an actor appeared in more than 30 film and TV roles.
