Nikki & The Corvettes

Nikki & the Corvette's made just over an album's worth of delicious girl group-tinged power pop in the late '70s/early'80s. Although something of a footnote within even in the annals of the genre's in which they worked, Nikki & the Corvette's developed a template for a heavily pop-infused style of punk music that persisted for decades. The Los Angeles-via-Detroit ensemble was lead by dreamgirl singer Nikki Corvette, who would go on to reform the band for various reuinions over the ensuing decades. She also published the book ROCK 'N' ROLL HEAVEN, a chronicle of untimely rock star deaths, in the late 1990s.
