Montgomery

Montgomery is, in a way, the symbol of a French pop-rock scene of quality, but slow to evolve: although the band has been around since 1996 (under the name Sold Out), in 2009 it is only on its second album. The reason for this snail's pace, which would make any Anglo-Saxon rock combo smile, undoubtedly lies in the timidity of French musical institutions (labels, producers, concert promotion). This societal observation aside, it's fair to say that Montgomery, from Rennes, have succeeded, with their 2007 album of the same name and 2009's Stromboli, in winning over the specialized press and an ever-growing audience with their highly inspired pop.
