Moneda Dura
Cuban pop/rock band Moneda Dura was formed in the late '90s by singer/bassist Hugo Fernández and singer/guitarist Nassiry Lugo, both students at Havana's university. The two were later joined by percussionist Miguel Alejandro Atencio, guitarist Addiel Perera, and drummer Osmel Prado. The group then recorded their debut album, called Cuando Duerme la Habana, which featured the hit single "La Buena Onda." Playing a mixture of Afro-Cuban rhythms and rock, Moneda Dura returned in 2000 with Mucho Cuida'o, climbing charts in Cuba, Spain, and Mexico with "Lola."
