Mahalo
Mahalo is a Hawaii-born, California-based electronic producer and DJ who rose out of Los Angeles' dance scene in the late 2010s playing a bright strain of house music he referred to as "liquid house." Recording for labels like Perfect Havoc and Toolroom Records, he made his name with tracks like "Current Mood" and "Here with Me," featuring Kadiri James, later expanding his audience with the 2019 streaming hit "So Cold," featuring Lily Denning.
Taking his name from a common Hawaiian term used to express gratitude, Mahalo left the islands to set up shop on the West Coast. Around 2016 he began to establish his sound, earning international attention for his house banger, "Current Mood" as well as cuts like "Move" and "Be My Love," both of which featured frequent collaborator Cat Lewis. Over the next few years he continued to release tracks on high-profile dance labels like AFTR:HRS and Armada Music and playing at festivals like Electric Daisy Festival and Groove Cruise. Following the success of 2018's "Here with Me" he released a series of collaborations with Polish DJ Milkwish. "So Cold," Mahalo's 2019 single with British singer Lily Denning, racked up significant streams and continued to widen his exposure internationally.
