Lady Te
Spitting sharp rhymes with sassy attitude, Lady Te initially made noise in her Detroit hometown as a teen with the club hit "I Know I Look Good (Ponytail)." Her music and personality reflect her profound respect for TLC's Left Eye, but her hard swagger and dance-rap inclinations are modeled after other influential rappers MC Lyte, Missy Elliott, and Ludacris. A loyal Detroiter since birth, Terra Twymon tried to start rapping around age ten. She was always a gifted student, and even had a poem published when she was in middle school. On top of her academic awards and other normal worries of a high-schooler, she offered her first full-length album, Terra-Fied, in 2006. Much like the "Ponytail" song, Terra-Fied contained many hard club tracks full of synths and lyrics imbued with her self-confidence.
