Konke

Seemingly coming out of nowhere, Konke rose to the top of the amapiano scene after joining Musa Keys on the 2022 hit "Kancane." Collaborations with Cyfred, Chley, and Leandra.Vert followed before he issued his debut mini-album, Malandela, in 2023. Hailing from Durban, South Africa, Konke (aka Phiwakonke Ntokozo Ntanzi), was originally in his third year of a law degree when, after posting his own productions online, he was contacted by Musa Keys to work together, and the result was the single "Kancane." Upon release, Konke was thrust straight into the spotlight, with the track earning huge streaming figures. Originally inspired by R&B and hip-hop, Konke's work with Keys saw his embracing the amapiano sound, a mix of deep house, jazz, and African-inspired rhythms. Konke followed up the release with three more tracks -- "M'nike," "Blue Tick," and "Zonke Ekhonei" -- while collaborating with Cyfred, Chley, and Leandra.Vert. "Skeem Saam" arrived in 2023 before he released his debut mini-album, Malandela, just a few a few days later.
