Jessica Molaskey
Jessica Molaskey has numerous roles in musical theater to her credit. The Connecticut native has appeared on Broadway in Dream True in the role of Sarah Cody. She has also appeared in the world premiere of 3hree, as well as the world premiere of Wise Guys, a musical by John Wiedman and Stephen Sondheim. Molaskey has performed in the national touring companies of Parade, Tommy, City of Angels, Chess, Cats, Dream, Falsettos, Crazy for You, and Les Misérables. The singer's credits include productions of Songs for a New World, Time & Again, Another Midsummer Night, Weird Romance, and Book of the Night. She is featured on the cast recordings of Parade, Weird Romance, Chess, Oklahoma!, Songs for a New World, Saturn Returns, Myths & Hymns, and Windflowers.
In 2002, Molaskey released her first solo album, Pentimento, which put a jazzy, modernistic twist on American songs from the 1920s and '30s. It was followed a year later by A Good Day, which applied the same style to 1950s vocal standards. Both albums featured the guitar and production work of Molaskey's jazz guitarist husband, John Pizzarelli. Molaskey released two more albums for PS Classics -- 2004's Make Believe and 2007's Sitting in Limbo -- before switching to Arbors. She released A Kiss to Build a Dream On in 2008 and At the Algonquin in 2012 for the label. In 2017, she signed with Ghostlight and released the Joni Mitchell tribute album Portraits of Joni.
