Guido Basso
He wasn't Canada's best-known jazz musician, but trumpet and flügelhorn player Guido Basso was on the scene since the mid-'60s, playing tart, hot licks, and heading large and small bands. He also made mellow mainstream sessions, and did Afro-Latin and big band dates, plus bop and originals. Guido Basso died on February 13, 2023, at the age of 85.
