GRANRODEO

GRANRODEO is a two-piece Japanese rock band, whose members are actor, singer and lyricist Kishow and composer and guitarist e-Zuka. They specialise in music for Japanese anime soundtracks. They formed in Tokyo in 2005 and have written and performed the soundtracks and theme music to many anime films, including 'Kikoushi Enma' (2006), 'Blassreiter' (2008), 'Code:Breaker' (2012), 'Karneval' (2013), 'Nanatsu No Taizai' (2014), 'Bungou Stray Dogs' (2016) and 'Baki' (2018).

GRANRODEO have also recorded several studio albums on the Lantis record label. Their first was 'Ride On the Edge' in 2007, followed by 'Instinct' in 2008, which was their first album to reach the top 20 in the Japanese Albums Chart, peaking at number 18. 'Brush the Scar Lemon' in 2009 reached number 14, and 'Supernova' in 2011 reached number 13. The single 'Rose-Hip Bullet', which was the theme tune for the anime 'Togainu no Chi', was released from the album 'Supernova' in 2010 and reached number seven in the Japanese Singles Chart. GRANRODEO's best-selling album to date, 'Crack Star Flash' in 2012 reached number three. Singles from this album included 'Ai No Warrior', the theme tune for 'Game Angelique: Maren no Rokukishi' in 2011, and in 2012, 'Can Do' and 'Rimfire', both of which featured in the anime 'Kuroko'. 'Rimfire' reached number seven in the Japanese Singles Chart.

This was followed by two other number three albums 'Karma to Labyrinth' in 2014 and 'Pierrot Dancin'' in 2017. Top ten singles 'Henai no Rondo' (2013), 'The Other Self' (2013) and 'Hengenjizai No Magical Star' (2014) were released from 'Karma to Labyrinth'. 'Punky Funky Love' (2015), 'Memories' (2015) and 'Trash Candy' (2016), from 'Pierrot Dancin'', also all reached the top ten.

GRANRODEO have released two singles collaboratively with another Japanese rock band, Flow. '7-seven-' in 2014 was the closing theme for the anime 'Seven Deadly Sins' and reached number ten in the Japanese Singles Chart. 'Howling' (2017) was the theme tune for the anime 'Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of the Commandments' and reached number 12.

Their 2019 album 'FAB LOVE' featured pre-released singles 'Glorious Days' which reached number ten, 'Move On! Ibara Michi' which reached number 12, and top 20 hits 'Deadly Drive' and 'Beastful', both released in 2019. These tracks all featured on anime soundtracks, as did 'Setsuna No Ai', released in 2019, which was the theme tune for 'Bungou Stray Dogs'.
