D.D Dumbo
D.D Dumbo is the performing name of Australian singer/songwriter Oliver Hugh Perry, an artist known for his unique pop fusion that utilizes 12-string guitar, looping pedals, and a wide-ranging set of influences from meandering desert blues to Tuvan melodies and various African traditions. A native of Castlemaine, Victoria, Dumbo developed his sound over several years, releasing his debut EP, Tropical Oceans, in 2013. That same year, he made a splash in the U.S. at the annual SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Support slots with major acts like tUnE-yArDs, St. Vincent, and Tame Impala followed and he eventually signed with U.K. label 4AD, which reissued his first EP. Following the release of the singles "Satan" and "Walrus," his debut full-length, Utopia Defeated, arrived in October 2016.
