池昌旭

With a background in musical theater, Ji Chang-wook began starring in South Korean films in 2008, then launched his career as a pop vocalist by making his first soundtrack appearance in 2011. He was born on July 5, 1987, in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, and landed his first musical theater role with a 2007 production of Fire and Ice. Although films like 2008's Sleeping Beauty, 2009's The Weird Missing Case of Mr. J, and 2010's Death Bell 2: Bloody Camp helped expand his acting portfolio, it was his role in the 2010 television series Smile Again that truly turned him into a star, with Ji Chang-wook winning the "Excellence Award, Actor in a Daily Drama" from the KBS Drama Awards in 2011. That same year, he also began making appearances on several popular television show soundtracks, singing "Meet Again" for the action TV series Warrior Baek Dong-soo and performing two songs on the Bachelor's Vegetable Store soundtrack. Both shows featured Ji Chang-wook in a starring role, and he continued contributing songs to his own television shows throughout the rest of the decade. After performing on the soundtracks for programs like Five Fingers, Empress Ki, and Healer, Ji Chang-wook released his debut EP as a solo artist, Be With You, in 2016. He then returned to his dual careers as an award-winning actor and soundtrack singer, with musical highlights including "101 Reasons Why I Like You" (from the 2017 series Suspicious Partner) and "When Love Passes By" (from the 2019 show Melting Me Softly). Chang-wook released multiple songs on the soundtrack to the TV drama The Sound of Magic in 2022, then earned a pair of Top 5 hits with 2023's "あなたがいてくれた" (which reached number 4 on the Oricon Singles Chart) and 2024's "The Wind Of Spring" (which debuted at number 5).
