Tony Clarke
Tony Clarke was a songwriter and singer who scored his biggest successed with "Pushover" and "Two Sides Tto Every Story," which were big hits for Etta James. His own recording success was rather more limited, confined to "The Entertainer," which reached number 31 on the pop charts and number ten as an R&B hit, and "This Heart of Mine." Clarke did enjoy some fame overseas, amid the northern soul boom in England during the late '60s and early '70s, with two singles, "Landslide" and "(They Call Me) A Wrong Man." He recorded for Chess, among other labels, but his main career was as a songwriter.
