TIM KREKEL
Tim Krekel is a Louisville, KY, native who plays straight rock & roll. He has written songs for many different artists, including Dr. Feelgood and Delbert McClinton, but his biggest song was probably Patty Loveless' cover of "You Can Feel Bad." He has also played with many like-minded artists, especially with mentor Jimmy Buffett. Buffett gave Krekel many of his big breaks in the recording industry, but by the late '70s Krekel struck out on his own to release his debut, Crazy Me. He continued to play around the country, but didn't get another album released until 1986's Over the Fence. He toured around but again found himself without much support, and after one more album (1991's Out of the Corner), he started the Groovebillys and began to play around the Louisville area. He didn't attempt another solo album again until 2002, when he wrote and released Happy Town on Free Falls.
