Thomas Hellman
French Canadian singer/songwriter Thomas Hellman makes literate country, folk, and jazz-influenced music informed by his father's Texas roots and mother's French heritage. A longtime poet, writer, and would-be academic, Hellman recorded his first two independently produced albums while studying for a master's degree in French literature. In 2005, the Montreal native released his proper debut album, L'Appartement, on Justin Time Records. In 2007, his first two albums were combined, remastered, and re-released as Departure Songs.
