R.O.C
Although formed in London in 1983, the electronic trio R.O.C. went largely unknown for over a decade as writer/programmer Patrick Nicholson (who formed the group alongside guitarist Fred Browning) focused on his work as tour promoter for British acts performing in Eastern Europe. Only with the 1993 arrival of Colorado-born vocalist Karen Sheridan did R.O.C. (once believed to be an acronym for Reincarnation of Christ) truly begin to take shape, issuing a series of five independent singles which led to their signing with the Setanta label. After releasing their debut LP in early 1996, R.O.C. moved to Virgin which reissued the album later that year.
