Novillero
Influenced by such classic mod rock groups as the Who and the Kinks, Canadian band Novillero play their own brand of guitar- and keyboard-driven melodic pop. Formed in 1999, the Winnipeg quartet released its debut album, The Brindleford Follies, on Endearing Records before calling it quits in 2002. A year later the band re-formed, ultimately losing original member Rusty Matyas to his other band, the Waking Eyes. Eventually featuring the talents of vocalist/keyboardist Rod Slaughter, guitarist Sean Stevens, bassist/vocalist Grant Johnson, and drummer/vocalist Dave Berthiaume, Novillero released their sophomore effort, Aim Right for the Holes in Their Lives, on Mint Records in 2005. Little Tradition followed in 2008.
