Marshall & Alexander
A classical crossover vocal duo, Marshall & Alexander both hail from Germany, and got their start in 1998 upon meeting at an opera performance that year. Baritone Mark Marshall, born in Baden-Baden on July 28, 1963, is the son of pop star Tony Marshall, and grew up in the music business world, making many an appearance even as a child. He eventually decided to devote his career to classical music, and upon meeting tenor Jay Alexander (born August 1, 1971, in Pforzheim), Marshall found the perfect creative partner with whom to work and succeed. Their debut was released not long after their formation, and since 1998 Marshall & Alexander have released more than ten albums and a handful of DVDs. Their 2007 release, Götterfunken, was a commercial hit in Germany, peaking at number 26 on the charts.
