Mac Ayres
A versatile singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Mac Ayres emerged in 2017 with a breezy, sometimes lo-fi amalgam of R&B, soul, funk, vaporwave, and jazz fusion. He released his debut album, Something to Feel, in 2018 and received considerable acclaim for his third full-length effort, 2021's Magic 8ball.
A native of Sea Cliff, New York, the self-taught Ayres attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston before dropping out in 2017 to complete his debut EP. Citing influences like D'Angelo and J Dilla, the resulting Drive Slow and 2018 long-player Something to Feel helped Ayres build a loyal fan base, which only grew larger with the releases of 2019's Juicebox and 2021's Magic 8ball.
