I Am They
Contemporary Christian music band I AM THEY are based in Nashville and composed of vocalist/guitarist Matthew Hein, vocalist/harmonium player Abbie Parker, vocalist/guitarist Jon McConnell, keyboardist Justin Shinn, and drummer Sara Palmer. Their music blends upbeat pop tunes, Americana-influenced instrumentation, and lyrics that focus on themes of Christian faith and redemption. I AM THEY formed in Carson City, Nevada in 2008. They played various churches in the area as Solomon's Porch, changing their name to I AM THEY -- a reference to a passage in the New Testament -- in 2009. I AM THEY signed to Provident Music Group in 2013 and released their self-titled debut LP on Essential Records in 2015. The album earned the band a Dove Award nomination for New Artist of the Year and reached number ten on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart.
