Hydra Vein
U.K. thrashers Hydra Vein were formed in Brighton by the Maddison brothers, Damon (bass) and Nathan (drums), who had earlier been the acting rhythm section in an equally obscure act named Deathwish. Just as that band was grinding to a halt in 1987, the siblings began recording a new demo entitled The Reptilliad with vocalist Mike Keen, following it a year later with a rough, Slayer-influenced debut album called Rather Death Than False of Faith, which featured guitarists Danny Ranger and Stephen Davis. Both of these had been ejected and replaced by Paul Bate and Jon Balfour come 1989's After the Dream EP, but Hydra Vein was already on their last legs anyway, and officially disbanded by year's end.
