Gur Sidhu

Making his mark in the Punjabi film and music industries as a composer, singer and lyricist, Gursimran Singh Sidhu – known by his stage name Gur Sidhu – is a versatile new face on the scene. The multi-talented artist and music director – who has worked on singles "8 Parche," "Pyar Bolda," "Regret," and "Taare" with Indian rapper and actor Sidhu Moose Wala – first stepped out with his slow-burning traditional-meets-modern debut single, "Moved On," in May 2019 and went on to amass an impressive repertoire, both as a singer and as a music composer. Gur Sidhu was born on July 11, 1997 in Bathinda, Punjab, India, and moved to Toronto, Canada after graduating. In 2019, he achieved breakthrough success with “Bro Oye” – his collaborative Punjabi pop single with Hindi/Hariyanvi rapper PARDHAAN and with lyrics written by Kirat Gill, released by White Hill Music. That same year, he sang, wrote, and composed the track "Challa" featuring Punjabi singer Harpi Gill, which was included on the 2019 Punjabi-language romantic comedy-drama film Ardab Mutiyaran starring Ninja and Sonam Bajwa. 2020 was a prolific year for Gur Sidhu, who released a wealth of singles, including "Sham Da Laara" and the catchy, acoustic-tinged "Fragrance." In 2021, he turned up the heat with an appearance on Jassa Dhillon's album Above All, notably yielding a trap-flavored collaboration with Punjabi singer Deepak Dhillon titled "Talja."
