Anne Grete
Anne Grete Preus was born in Haugesund on May 22, 1957. Songwriter, singer and guitarist, she was first active on the local scene as a member of the bands Veslefrikk, between 1978 and 1981, and Can Can, between 1983 and 1987. After that, this true pioneer of female rock artists embarked on a solo career that saw her release nine albums over the years and win numerous awards, including three Spellemannprisen, given to Norwegian artists who have made a positive impact during the year. Unfortunately, she contracted liver cancer in 2007, but this did not initially prevent her from pursuing her career, notably by giving numerous concerts. But at the beginning of 2019, she had to cancel several performances due to her extreme fatigue. She succumbed to her illness in the middle of the summer of the same year. Her last recording, Et Sted Å Feste Blikket, was released in 2013.
