Amenem

Real name Christopher Nguema Obame, Amenem was born on May 23, 1990 in Libreville, Gabon. Initially passionate about dance, he discovered albums by Dr. Dre, Jay-Z and Eminem in his teens through his brother. The sounds of rap were a revelation, and Amenem soon combined listening with practicing, writing his first freestyles. Initially nicknamed Eminem, his pseudonym gradually changed to Amenem. After winning a contest in 2004, he joined Boss Playa, an Ivorian record label, in 2010, and became a professional. He produced his first tracks, such as "Ne Regarde Plus Derrière" in 2013, before revealing himself on a national scale with his single "Tobghe Si". He followed this up with a tribute track to footballer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, "PEA " in 2015, which reached the player's ears. As his tours thickened, with events alongside Youssoupha, Booba and Akon, Amenem was shaken by the death of his mother. He returned to music in 2016, with the creation of his Dynastie structure. This gave him greater autonomy and saw the rapper continue to compose: "Tristement" (2017), "Sorciers" (2017) or "Mytho" (2020). While his Dynastie label joined Universal Music Africa in 2020, Amenem continued his rise and exported himself, producing numerous featurings with Cameroonian Mink's ("Faut Laisser" in 2020) or Ivorian Fire Man ("Carré " in 2022).
