Florida rapper BossMan DLow came to worldwide attention with his single "Get in with Me," a simmering collection of wealth boasts and diamond-encrusted one-liners. It's catchy, booming, and fun, to the point where it became the rapper's first verifiable Billboard hit. Mixtape Mr Beat the Road uses "Get in with Me" as its centerpiece, as well as the blueprint for many of its best songs. Bedroom anthem "Come Here" featuring Sexyy Red, nervy brag rap "Mr Pot Scraper," and the fight-ready "Piss Me Off" all have a similar minimal structure as "Get in with Me," keeping the emphasis on DLow's grinning hooks and larger-than-life bars. Other guest appearances on the mixtape include Wizz Havinn on "Obama Runtz" and Rob49 on "Lil Bastard," bringing some needed flare to an album that's great fun but stays in one gear for so much of the time that its songs become a little indistinguishable from one another.
