Xavier Caféïne
Born Xavier Plante on March 6, 1977 in Aylmer (Canada), Xavier Caféïne is a Quebec rock singer. In 1997, he formed the group Caféïne, which lasted until 2002. The group released two albums during its five-year career, Mal Édiqué Mon Amour in 1998 and Pornstar in 2000. He then turned to the English-language scene with the group Poxy until 2004, when a self-titled opus was released. In August 2006, he released his first solo album, Gisèle , on which he plays most of the instruments. The songs " Corbillard ", " Gisèle ", " La Fin du monde " and " Montréal (cette ville) " were successful on Quebec radio. From 2006 to 2008, he performed at a number of festivals, including the Francofolies de Montréal, the Festival d'été de Québec, the Oscheaga Festival and Woodstock en Beauce. In 2007, Plastic Bertrand approached him to write songs for his new album. In 2009, he released the opus Bushido, including the song " Le Metro ", which reached number ten in the Quebec charts. In spring 2013, Xavier Caféïne released the album New Love, born of heartbreak.
