Rose Villain

Rose Villain is the alias of Italian singer, songwriter, and rapper Rosa Luini. Born in 1989 to a prominent Milanese family, aged 18 Luini moved to Los Angeles to study at Hollywood's Musicians Institute, where she also sang in a punk rock cover band called The Villains – eventually keeping the name for her solo moniker. Her next stop was New York, where she studied musical theater while courting the interest of several record labels and producers, including future husband Andrea Ferrara (aka Sixpm). After making her debut in 2016 with "Get the Fuck Out of My Pool" and "Geisha", Luini spent the following years switching label allegiances (among these deals with Republic Records and modeling agency Next Model Management) while releasing more English material. Ultimately, in 2020 she decided to return home and focus on developing a career as an Italian pop star, under the auspices of Sony/Arista. She was introduced to Italian audiences through a series of collaborations with established artists, mostly from the hip-hop scene, such as Guè, Gué Pequeno, Mondo Marcio, Emis Killa, Annalisa, Fabri Fibra, Fred De Palma, and Jake La Furia. Her debut full-length, 2023's Radio Gotham, featured among others Salmo, Carl Brave, Elisa, and Tony Effe. More importantly, it demarcated her own style, a mixture of hip-hop beats and production techniques with mainstream Italian pop singing and melodic sense. 2024 proved to be an eventful year for Luini, who signed with Warner Records, made her Sanremo debut with "Click boom!", appeared in the TV talent show Nuova Scena as one of the judges, released her sophomore effort Radio Sakura, and had her first #1 single with "Come un tuono", one of the summer's hottest hits. Shortly after her second Sanremo appeareance with "Fuorilegge", in March 2025 her third album Radio Vega topped the Italian charts upon release.
