DYLYN

Dylyn is a Canadian alt-rock singer/songwriter with a sultry and dark-hued bent. She enjoyed a spike of viral success in 2018 with "Secret," her moody account of a child witnessing her parents' divorce. Her debut EP packed additional firepower with its mix of modern pop production and gritty bangers, and eventually built up to the release of her 2022 debut album, The Sixty90's. Dylyn's prolific output continued over the next few years and included the 2025 EP Heavy.A former electro-pop act who charted a handful of hits in the dance world under the name Guinevere, Toronto's Gwendolyn Lewis eventually felt her interest in electronic music waning. She added a live drummer to her show and began writing again on the guitar, drawing on her early love of rock & roll. By 2017, Lewis had done away with Guinevere altogether and took on the nickname Dylyn to represent her return to a more organic rock and pop approach. "Secret" was released in 2017, though it wasn't until the following year after the release of her debut EP, Sauvignon and a Kimono, that the song suddenly took off, racking up millions of streams and earning a mysteriously large fan base in the anime community. She began working on new material with L.A.-based Toronto ex-pat Colin Munroe (Kendrick Lamar, Lights) and another Canadian, Ryan Guldemond (Mother Mother), and returned in 2020 with the sleek and punchy "Something to Lose" and the riffy "Call Me What You Want." Both were included on her EP, Only Us, released later that year. Singles like "Make It Naked" and "Hellhound" further cemented Dylyn's gritty sound with the latter appearing on her 2022 debut album The Sixty90's. After collaborations with BRKN LOVE and Goodwerks in 2023, she returned to making solo music with singles like "Drown" and "Overrated." These and several more were collected on Dylyn's 2025 EP Heavy.
